Keeping Up With The Unicorns - Wahl Dirt Beastie Shampoo

My beautiful followers already know how much I love keeping my grey horse grey or as I like to call it, sparkling snow white squeaky clean unicorn grey therefore when I saw the Wahl Showman Dirty Beastie Shampoo in my local tack shop (that I only popped into for a £1.25 water syringe), it's witty name and my love for shiny ponies drew me to it immediately and before I knew it I was at the till and it was in my basket - yes, a basket for 'just' a water syringe, I left my self discipline at home that day.

Throughout Winter I spend time clipping coats, dusting off dried mud and pig oiling legs in my battle against mud, so come spring I rejoice on sunny days and declare it 'bath time' (shortly followed by 'no rolling time'), and I confess that I haven't tried many equine shampoos, Oscar usually gets lathered up in Johnson's baby shampoo with Cowboy Magic Yellow Out on his mane, tail and any stubborn stains so I was thoroughly excited to bubble bath the dirty beastie!

Wahl, Dirty Beastie Shampoo is based on natural ingredients and contains no harmful detergents or cleansers, it's perfectly balanced formula including extracts of peach, pear, passion-flower and kiwi fruit effectively cleanse dirty, thick or matted coats and deodorise even the smelliest of creatures.
Hmmm...I wouldn't say Oscar is in any of the above categories but I did leave him without a rug for a day or two before 'bath time' that's the best I could do - all my OCD would allow - here is a before picture:

After :)

All Wahl products are designed to be powerful, yet gentle and the Dirty Beastie Shampoo will effectively remove dirt, grease, stains and odours, rejuvenating the hair as it cleans, the shampoo contains beneficial natural ingredients that will promote healthy, glossy results every time...and I am happy to report that it did! It did everything it said it would, the smell of the shampoo is so incredible I would bath in it myself and it lathered up beautifully - I can't cope with shampoos that don't lather, who else feels like you haven't cleaned properly if you're not covered in bubbles? I know it thoroughly cleaned his coat too because those of you who have bathed a grey will know if you don't do a proper job, or the shampoo isn't up the scratch as the coat dries flecks of dirt you've disturbed will come to the surface and you have spend another half an hour once they're dry brushing them off - nothing more irritating! Thankfully none of that, Oscar smelt beautiful, was comfortable during and after the bath, no itches or irritations and I just know he can't wait for his next bath - just look at his face....phahahahahaa, maybe.

Online direct from Wahl - 500ml £6.99 - I paid £7.50 from my local tack shop and Wahl offer a whole range of shampoos, after the success of Dirty Beastie I already have my eye on Diamond White and...well the whole of the range actually, oh dear!

Thank you for reading, Jessica and Oscar xxxx
